Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 29, 2004 -

Â? Despite the uncertainty of war, extreme weather, rising fuel costs, and an upcoming presidential election, more and more Americans appear to be using recreational boating to Â?get away from it allÂ? according to sales figures just released from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Second quarter 2004 retail unit sales of powerboats were up seven percent versus the same period last year and nine percent year-to-date. This represents the industryÂ?s fourth consecutive quarter of growth with unit sales up eight percent over a rolling 12-month period.

All powerboat segments showed positive gains year-to-date with sales of inboard cruisers up 18 percent, outboard boats up 10 percent, jet drive boats up 13 percent, sterndrive boats up seven percent and personal watercraft up six percent.

In addition to positive retail numbers, wholesale unit sales of new powerboats are also up five percent year-to-date and almost nine percent over the same period last year. Wholesale dollar sales are up 16.7 percent year-to-date and 18.5 percent versus the same period last year.

Â?The recreational boating industry continues to benefit from AmericansÂ? renewed desire to spend quality time with friends and family,Â? said Thom Dammrich, president of the NMMA. Â?For 90 percent of Americans itÂ?s an activity thatÂ?s less than an hour away and provides a great opportunity to spend time outdoors and form bonds with loved ones.Â?

The recreational boating industry contributed approximately $ 30 billion to the US economy in 2003, according to the NMMA.

Top 10 states for 2003 boat, motor, trailer and boating accessory purchases:

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 29, 2009

With the arrival of peak boating, and boat selling, season, yesterday evening, the U.S. Senate passed S. Res. 199, introduced by Senators Herb Kohl (D-Wisc.) and Richard Burr (R-N.C.), declaring July 1, 2009 National Boating Day. The resolution recognizes the important role recreational boating and the boating industry play in the lives of the nation’s 70 million boaters and the U.S. economy.

“I am very pleased that the Senate passed this resolution recognizing July 1 as National Boating Day. The boating industry is very important to the economy of North Carolina and provides families with the opportunity to enjoy our state’s scenic treasures, from our mountain lakes to the Outer Banks,” said Senator Richard Burr.

“The boating industry has always been an integral part of Wisconsin’s landscape,” said Senator Herb Kohl said. “From the boat manufacturing jobs it supports to the millions of dollars generated by recreational boating, it has a tremendous impact on our economy and has made our state a tourist destination. This resolution recognizes the many ways boating has shaped Wisconsin.”

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) reports in its 2008 Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract, released this week, that there are more than 17 million recreational boats on the water, of which nearly 95 percent are less than 26 feet in length. What’s more, the Abstract shows that contrary to boating’s reputation as only for the ‘affluent,’ 76 percent of boat owners have a household income less than $ 100,000 per year.

Other highlights from the NMMA’s data include:

The U.S. recreational boating industry contributed $ 33.6 billion to the U.S. economy in 2008
The average price of a new outboard boat, engine and trailer package in 2008 was $ 29,388
May, June and July were the most active months for boat sales in 2008
Adult participation in boating increased six percent to an estimated 70.1 million from 66.4 million
There were 704,820 new boats sold in 2008 (including powerboats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks
and personal watercraft)

There were 203,00 new powerboats sold in 2008 for a dollar value of $ 7.6 billion

“The entire marine industry and recreational boaters nationwide look forward to celebrating National Boating Day,” said Thom Dammrich, NMMA president. “Not only is recreational boating a beloved pastime, but marine businesses are important parts of their communities and our national economy, creating business opportunities and local jobs. Our thanks go to all of the Members of Congress behind this resolution for their strong support of the boating industry.”

With the nation’s average price for gas hovering around $ 2.50 per gallon, much lower than 2008’s nearly $ 4 per gallon, boaters are expected to hit the water in larger numbers this summer. In fact, a May survey of more than 30,000 members of the Boat Owners Association of the United States (BoatU.S.) found that 92 percent of motorboat owner respondents plan to boat this summer if gas prices are lower than last summer; of that, 39 percent noted they would go boating more often. What’s more, 96 percent of all respondents said the economic downturn would not cause them to stop using their boat this summer.

Industry experts continue to stress, for those in the market for a boat, now is the time to buy. Dealers and marinas nationwide have rolled out special incentives on boats, accessories, slips and services, pulling out all the stops for the crucial summer selling season. Discover Boating, the recreational boating industry’s national awareness campaign, has also created a one-stop online resource for those looking to get their ‘feet wet’ in boating, http://www.DiscoverBoating.com.

In addition to Senators Kohl and Burr, more than 20 Senators co-sponsored the resolution, including Senators Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Russ Feingold (D-Wisc.), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), David Vitter (R-La.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Mark Begich (D-Alaska), Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Kay Hagan (D-N.C.), Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.) Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).

A companion measure, H. Res. 410, sponsored in the House by Congressmen Ron Klein (D-Fla.) and Henry Brown (R-S.C.), along with Congressional Boating Caucus Co-Chairs Candice Miller (R-Mich.) and Gene Taylor (D-Miss), passed unanimously in the House of Representatives on June 9 with 27 bipartisan co-sponsors.

About NMMA:

Some nights are simply even better when compared with others. Today is one of those particular times. I am ultimately entering into a consistent writing routine. Today I stumbled upon some neat articles and other content I would like to show you. This document regarding boat accessories made my day. My personal day time was without a doubt really going great for me personally though so with any luck , this post gets to you in a excellent state of mind also.

9 Hints for Selling Your Boat Fast

Without doubt, the world of boating is a huge, engaging and interesting one. One of the most interesting features is how to sell your boat fast and gain maximum financial benefits.

Now if you are really interested in selling your ‘water craft’ and need some proven ideas to guide you, then I have good news for you. I advice that you approach boat selling with cautions to avoid being cheated.

For the remaining part of this article, let me showcase couple tips to sell your boat fast, starting from today.

Tip #1
Get smart knowledge of the best time to sell your boat: Does this sound weird to you? Having smart knowledge of the right seasons before selling your boat will boost your bottom line. As an example, most boat buyers hardly open their wallet for boat during or middle of winter season.

Avoid selling at very cold seasons unless you want to sell at a low price. On the other hand, you can get the best price for your boat just when the boating season begins. This is a smart marketing move because lots of people are always looking to buy a boat then. Apart from the fact you will likely sell your boat for good price, you will avoid a lot of the marketing cost that you would spend during the winter months.

Tip #2
What is the market willing to pay? The next point is to find the best possible price an average buyer is willing to pay for your boat. How can you accomplish this?

Firstly, research the boat’s worth, by getting advice and appraisals from a competent boat sales professional.

But if you don’t want to pay a professional, then check with the marine blue book value. Simply change the price predicated on the accessories plus depreciation for your boat. If you add any new accessories or some resurfacing such as carpeting, make sure to compute that and all of the boating accessories that you are going to provide with the boat.

Tip #3
Study your competitors. Always remember you’re not alone in the game. There are many competitors, just as some boat buyers may opt for buying a new boat instead of buying yours.

          ]]>

Therefore, you must set a very competitive price based on features that potential buyers may really desires. For example, if you find out that many similar boats (both old and new models) lack certain features such as radio, GPS, fish finders, you may add them to your own boat and let the potential buyers know this.

Tip #4
Use smart advertising techniques. Displaying a mere small add in an obscure corner of a daily newspaper may not get you many good inquiries, if any at all. Most boaters now use the Internet to search for their preferred boats. As a result, to win the game, advertise your boat by displaying both the profile and photographs of different angles of the interiors and exteriors.

Make sure your pictures are good-looking quality pictures, studies have proven that a profile with professional pictures command more attention and help to sell a boat faster online.

Tip #5
Get a boat broker. Not everyone can stand the rigor of showing boats to potential customers and answering their questions. Why don’t you contact a broker to do the ‘dirty job’ for you? The difference is 10% or 15% commission the broker will earn – but he will get the job done very fast and without any hassles to you.

However, insist to know the methods that the broker will use to advertise your boat. The best medium is to use the Internet so as to attract a large percentage of buyers as fast as humanly possible.

Tip #6
Be patient. Judging by normal standards, you may have to wait for three to six months to sell your boat. So if you want to advertise it yourself, start early and display on sites where listing are allowed for several months. However, with some luck, you will sell your boat sooner.

Tip #7
Boaters love clean boats. Apart from adding new features, make sure you clean your boat very well. Using soapy water and a handful dab, start cleaning from the exterior to the interiors. Clean off every mold, mildew and rusty stain. Everything must be thoroughly cleaned and replaced back properly after they’re completely dried up. I strongly urge you do this before you add new features and advertise you boat for sale.

Make sure the storage is cleaned and organized and get rid of any odor from the interior. This should be accomplished at the time of cleaning the boat. However, many people miss out on this vital aspect. Apart from cleaning and replacing rusty and leaking clamps and hoses, ensure the stove, cushions and refrigerators are all in working order. Also, remove every item from the storage lockers to avoid giving buyers the wrong impression that your boat storage is inadequate.

Tip #8
Do not be rigid on pricing. It’s good to sell at the best price, but let your customers’ interest be uppermost. Put yourself in his shoes and ask yourself this question, “If I’m buying this boat, what special deals will easily sway my interests to buy this boat rather than other boats that are similar?”

Tip #9
Consider doing a survey. Having considered every tip that will help you sell your boat fast, nevertheless, it’ll be futile to get loads of potential buyers coming to check your boat, their minds ready to issue you a check – but they stopped because something ‘bad’ was discovered: The buyer discovered your boat not in the best working condition!

Most times this is beyond the competence of the boat owner. So to avoid disappointment, do a survey to determine the working condition of your boat before listing. Survey cost in the region of per linear foot, which means that a 20ft will cost 0.

If the survey returns a clean bill of health, you can even use it to dangle a sweet carrot before buyers to get better price.

Happy Selling!

Today is among those situations in which it is always all I can get done to get myself out from the bed. Hopefully most people are really experiencing a much better time today. On the other hand I do have to get the web site updated and so this is a story I discovered on boat accessories that probably will be of some kind of value.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 25, 2010

The one and only BIG Seattle Boat Show (http://www.seattleboatshow.com) is set to get underway at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 29th. The annual show with two locations – at Qwest Field Event Center and South Lake Union – is the West Coast’s largest boat show with 1,000 boats and yachts and more than three acres of accessories, electronics and boating gear. Unique to the Seattle Boat Show is the large variety of boats on display. At other shows you may find yourself in a sea of bass boats or wakeboard boats. At the Seattle show, the boats on display are representative of the wide range of boating available in the region. This year the smallest boat in the show fits in a backpack and the largest is a 143 foot mega yacht. The show runs through Saturday, February 6th.

But boats and accessories are just one part of the big show. Other attractions this year include:

If Money Is No Object

Three boats over 100 feet in the length will be on display at South Lake Union. The largest in the show is 143 feet and asking price is $ 6.4 million. Tour the boats and dream a little.

Boating On a Budget:

Don’t have a few million to spare? Not to worry. There are dozens and dozens of boats at the show that can be financed for $ 250 a month or less. Don’t let another summer pass you by without getting on the water.

Come Fly With Me — Two Weeks to Taxi:

Need a plane to get to that 143-foot yacht you just bought or to your wilderness cabin? See the kit built plane that you can build in two weeks. And the wings fold up for tight spaces. The ultimate DIY project and the first time a plane has been in the boat show.

Most Unusual Boat at the Show:

Sealegs, an amphibious 20’ dinghy that can top 60 mph on the water. It has three wheels and goes from land to water and vice versa with the simple push of a button. It could be straight out of a James Bond movie but it’s actually the perfect boat for exploring our northwest islands and beaches. Drives right up out of the water and on to the beach or a boat launch ramp.

Toy Story — World’s Largest Toy Boat Collection:

Jerry Bauer got his first toy boat when he was 2 years old and has been collecting them ever since. To say it’s a bit of an obsession would be an understatement. In fact Jerry good naturedly calls it a disease. Today the collection numbers 5,000+. More than 1,000 boats from the collection will be on display at the show. Bound to delight the children as well as the child in every adult. (Kids 10 and under get in free to the show.)

Arctic Explorer and Filmmaker Shares Rare Footage:

Emmy award-winning filmmaker Sprague Theobald will share amazing unreleased footage from his upcoming documentary, Braving The Northwest Passage. This stunning film is from his five month epic journey across the Arctic aboard the 57′ Nordhavn Bagan. Bagan will be on display at South Lake Union where you can tour the boat, meet the cast and crew, even take home a free DVD. Get a taste, watch the trailer at: http://www.seattleboatshow.com/northwest-passage.html

Score A Boat!

The Seattle Sounders FC make it look easy but how easy is it really? Test your soccer skills and score a chance at winning a new 2009 Bayliner 175. Kick the ball in the back of the net at Qwest Field Event Center and score a soccer goal and you will be entered to win this fun, family runabout. Details: http://www.seattleboatshow.com/score-a-boat.html

Sit Behind the Wheel of a 1955 Vintage Hydroplane:

Attention Seafair fans! The Seafair Logboom Lounge will include a replica vintage 1955 hydroplane, the Miss Thriftway. Showgoers will be able to climb into the cockpit, check it out and have their picture taken. On Thursday February 4, 5-7pm attendees can meet legendary hydroplane Chip Hanauer and ask him questions about his historic career.

Boat Show on a Budget:

See the show mid-week after 5pm and your ticket is only $ 8. Or do dinner and a show (boat show tickets, free parking, fish and chips and a beverage at FX McRory’s for $ 20). Happy Hour daily all day at South Lake Union: your ticket gets you a complimentary appetizer.

About the Seattle Boat Show

The 63rd Annual Seattle Boat Show, Indoors + Afloat, Friday, January 29 – Saturday, February 6, features 1,000 boats – including fishing boats, inboard cruisers, runabouts, kayaks, sailboats and inflatables – hundreds of accessories, the latest high-tech innovations, and hundreds of hours of seminars at Qwest Field Event Center, plus world-class boats and yachts in their natural habitat at South Lake Union. This posting regarding boat accessories made me happy. My day was without a doubt going excellent for me though so we hope this posting gets to you in a excellent frame of mind also.

(PRWEB) August 7, 2005

Over the past few months summer sports activities have abounded as they do every summer with opportunities to shake off the winter blues and pep up our posteriors. Or, if being peppy is not what your into and relaxation is, there are an infinite amount of leisure summer activities for the avid “lounger extraordinaire”. Invent-Tech has a long list of inventors who have made it their goal, to conceive invention ideas to enhance leisure summertime activities. These inventors are targeting the industry that supplies the consumer with the toys and tools we can’t seem to live without. From golf to tennis and boating to casting off from a rolling riverbank on a warm summer day, these promoters of play time have found satisfaction in utilizing Invent-tech’s leading invention marketing techniques to bring their unique invention ideas to the playing field.

Even the most avid golf player occasionally hits a ball inaccurately and the ball lands somewhere out of their sight. Searching for the lost ball can be frustrating and cause the game to be delayed, not to mention the cost of having to replace the ball in the event it cannot be recovered. Now there is new product that would aid in easily locating misfired golf balls allowing users to quickly resume their game.

Inventor Lucious B. of Brea, California began developing the idea for the Golf Balls Transmitter in February of 2001. The idea came to him after suffering much frustration due to losing several golf balls.

When a fishing rod is not in use it is important that it is stored properly in order to avoid damage or breakage to the rod. However, one does have to be careful when more than one fishing rod is stored in the same place to avoid the lines from getting tangled with one another. Now there is a new portable product designed to store fishing rods individually keeping them safe from damage and making them easy to transport. Furthermore, there are special compartments to store other fishing equipment such as bait and tackle.

Inventor Deborah L. of Whitesboro, Texas came up with the idea for the Fishing Rod Case in March of 2000. The idea came to her while she was unloading five fishing poles from her truck.

If you have ever navigated a boat, then you know how much practice and concentration it takes to become competent at it. You have to give yourself a lot more room to make turns and reverse, and the weather has a lot more of an effect than if you were in a car. Darlene M., from Yarmouth, Maine likes boating, but wanted something to help her while docking. ThatÂ?s why she created the Fold-Out Loop For 15-40 Pleasure Craft.

This great new boating accessory allows the user to safely dock their boat. The Fold-Out Docking Loop For 15-40 Pleasure Craft stops the boat from getting damaged, and folds easily, storing in a compact space. ItÂ?s great for anyone that owns a boat.

From the time they can walk, tennis players are trained in the intricacies of the sport. Whether itÂ?s serving, returning, or figuring out the proper spin to put on the ball, tennis takes years of practice and hard work. Jim S., a tennis pro, schoolteacher and coach, saw a need for specialized skill development in high school. The Silver Lake, Indiana resident created the Tennis Net Lifter to make tennis drills more demanding.

The Tennis Net Lifter is a net feature that increases difficulty in competitive training. It gives a new perspective, forcing players to hit the ball deeper into the court. The Tennis Net Lifter greatly benefits players needing more depth for singles, as well as more spin on their serves. This valuable new training device is a durable solution to the need to raise the net quickly, and itÂ?s also nearly vandal proof, making it great for anyone who plays tennis, especially competitively.

These original ideas are now being made available for licensing to manufacturers interested in new product development, in many different and diverse industries. These Inventors are hoping to have their products and ideas in full production and available to the public within the very near future.

Right now is among those days where its just about all I am able to do to get myself away from the bed. With any luck , you are having a much better time today. Nevertheless I do have to get the website up-to-date so this is a piece of writing I found on boat accessories that ought to be of some kind of worth.

Kemah, Texas (PRWEB) June 29, 2007

Marine electronics “click and mortar” store, Sailtech Marine, has launched a new and improved ecommerce website at http://www.sailtechmarine.com to better serve their local and online clientele. Steve McCree, owner of Kemah, Texas based Sailtech Marine knows that to compete in today’s market, you can’t just depend on your local customers- you need to reach the wider audience available on the internet.

“Our customers are passionate about boating, navigating and marine communication. We offer a huge array of options from marine wiring, Radar and marine GPS to boating accessories like Pelican waterproof cases. Our goal is to reach marine enthusiasts and professionals nationwide to bring them our terrific product offering, excellent pricing and fantastic customer service,” said McCree.

With enhanced product descriptions, images and comprehensive graphics and site design, the new Sailtech Marine website is positioned to be an industry leader online. McCree continued, “Right now, there aren’t too many people in this space, which we feel makes this a great opportunity for both our business and the consumer, so we put a lot of work into our online offering – creating a friendly and clean site that’s easy to use. The next step will be more content to help our customers!”

Additionally, online resources for marine electronics are somewhat slim. You can head to NMEA.org, the National Marine Electronics Association for information on up to date technologies and industry information. Another great resource is the U.S. Coast Guard’s website (http://www.uscgboating.org/) that clarifies what marine electronics and more are required and recommended for boats of differing sizes.

However, Sailtech Marine understands that there is less information available at the consumer level and that the products in this space are advanced and very specific, so they may not fit in at a CNet or other review portal. Sailtech Marine brings clarity to a confusing and technical field so that customers can find the best products for their needs.

“The world of marine electronics is constantly changing and we hope to launch a comprehensive buyer’s guide to help our clients navigate through the latest and greatest industry offerings,” said McCree. “We’ll be talking about any standards that are adopted in the industry and we want to help both recreational and commercial boaters find the tools they need to enjoy successful voyages. ”

With a plan to launch Buyer’s Guides based on Marine GPS, Fishfinders, Marine Stereos and Weather plotting equipment, Sailtech Marine will become the place to go to learn about and purchase the right boating equipment.

“The key for our clients is learning about the technology so they can assess what they really need. A commercial fisherman is going to need different data and therefore different boating equipment than a day sailor so while they both might need a marine GPS or a compass, we’ll help them choose the right one and guide them through a great online experience at the same time,” explained McCree.

Marine electronics is a growing niche industry, serving both recreational boaters and commercial seafarers and Sailtech Marine hopes to reach a significantly larger portion of their community by taking the business online!

McCree finished, “We love what we do, and we needed to build a good looking, functional and usable website to serve our customers. We also plan to work hard on improving our visibility so that we can really succeed in this market.”

Sailtech Marine Electronics has been taking care of boater’s electronic needs since 1985. They pride themselves on offering the best marine electronics available at the best price. With a team of certified technicians that offer both internal and external technical repair and installation, Sailtech Marine is your resource for marine electronics.

This is reminding me of moments in which it is all I can get done to lug myself away from sleeping. With any luck , you are really experiencing a better time than me.
VuQube

Tampa, FL (Vocus) November 6, 2009 -–

The Sea King VuQube, along with DirecTV service allows boaters to have gorgeous flat screen televisions in their cabin but with no live connectivity. Many boaters have stunning televisions on their vessel, but most flat screens sit there blank in the cabin like some piece of abstract art. Maybe, if a TV is really lucky, it shows some movie from three years ago. Unfortunately, reruns are about as exciting as watching a puddle of water evaporate on a humid day. Marinemart allows a TV at sea to be as useful as TV at home. In fact, Marinemart Boating Accessories has the exact technology to evolve a cabin into a real live seaborne entertainment center, instead of some electronic facade that just masquerades as one.

Boaters love being out on the water, but boaters also love college football, the NFL, Major League Baseball playoffs, and the NHL. Boating and one’s favorite sports do not have to be separate this fall and winter. With VuQubeTM, one can combine fishing or a relaxing weekend sail with the big game for only $ 780.

Step 1: Get the Sea King VuQube Portable Satellite TV Antenna. Whether chilling out in a slip or 1,000 miles off shore, the game of the week can be seen live. It’s a simple one-person set-up with a weather resistant antenna that tilts and rotates via wireless remote to find the signal. The ultra-light portable VuQubeTM requires no assembly or tear-down. It even has dynamic dish-leveling if this device is installed on an uneven surface. Marinemart.com provides this high-tech equipment for the surprising low cost of $ 617.

Step 2: Get the DirecTV D11 Satellite Television Receiver and Universal Remote. Just $ 162 and DirecTV access (subscription sold separately) opens the door to over 225 channels with 100% digital picture quality and sound.
